You can create payroll periods automatically for weekly, biweekly, monthly, and semimonthly pay periods. If you need to create daily, quarterly, and annual pay periods, you'll have to do that manually. Click here for instructions.
The pay date on the period is the default pay date used on new payroll registers and can be changed once the register is created. It is the date that shows on paychecks and on the direct deposit file.
If you're using Attendance Enterprise or Attendance on Demand, the periods for an employee's payroll cycle in AptaFund must match those in the other program.
While on the Payroll Cycles tab in Payroll Configuration, check the box for the Payroll Cycle to which you want to add payroll periods.
Click on the Create Payroll Periods button, and the Create Payroll Periods window opens.
Click the radio
button for the Pay Period Interval
to be used for this payroll cycle.
Note: The Begin Date for the
First Pay Period is the Cycle Begin Date and is read-only.
The End Date for the First Pay Period defaults to the Begin Date plus
the selected interval. For example, if the begin date is 7/1/2015,
and the interval is monthly, the end date defaults to 7/31/2015.
Edit the End Date for the First Pay Period, if needed. Subsequent periods will begin on the day after each End Date.
Click Save. The payroll periods for the whole cycle are created and displayed in the lower grid.
You can edit the payroll period name and pay date, if needed, until an employee is assigned to the payroll cycle. Once an employee has been assigned to the cycle, the period begin and end dates are locked.
