Shared Contact Addresses

The same address may be used for more than one address type. You can select more than one address type for banks, customers, sites, and vendors. These addresses are automatically shared.

If an employee address is used for more than one address type, you'll need to share the address.

How shared addresses work

Once addresses are shared —whether automatically or manually — editing one shared address record will automatically update all addresses linked to it by sharing. All fields for shared addresses are therefore identical. If the addresses should have different phone numbers, they cannot be shared.

Share an address

  1. Check the box beside the address to be shared, and click the Share button. The Share Address window opens.

  2. Select the Type for the new address record. Note: Once an address type has been shared, it is no longer included in the Type pull-down list.

  3. Click OK. The address is copied to the new record, and both addresses are displayed with the Shared = Yes.
